Research area & interests

My research program in bioinformatics aims to identify novel biological mechanisms underlying multifactorial traits/diseases by employing statistical and machine learning methods such as: i) additive and multiplicative models for integrating genomic variations with environmental exposures to determine interaction effects; ii) epistatic and network approaches to construct gene networks ; iii) develop novel methods for simultaneous analysis of multiple ‘omics datasets (e.g., genomics, transcriptomics, metabolomics, microbiome) to study the complex and dynamic nature of biological networks.
